THREE OF ALDI’S WHISKIES NAMED AMONGST BEST IN THE WORLD

  • Aldi’s whisky collection takes home three golds at this year’s International Spirits Challenge
  • What’s more, shoppers can save an incredible 63% compared to premium brands – just in time for Father’s Day

Three of Aldi’s whiskies have been named among the best in the world at an international awards, which is dedicated to finding the globe’s best whiskies and judged by an independent panel of spirits experts.

The supermarket’s Glen Marnoch Highland Single Scotch Whisky (£18.49, 70cl), Highland Earl Blended Scotch Whisky (£16.89, 1L) and Samuel Joe’s Straight Kentucky Bourbon (£14.99, 70cl), pipped competitors to the post at the prestigious International Spirits Challenge (ISC).

One Gold in particular, Aldi’s Glen Marnoch Highland Single Scotch Whisky, beat the likes of M&S within the Single Malts category as well as premium brand Lochlea Distillery, which comes in at £45. At just £18.49 a bottle, shoppers can save over 60% opting for Aldi’s award winner – that’s premium sipping at purse-friendly prices!

The nation’s cheapest supermarket also took home three silvers for its Highland Black Blended Scotch Whisky (£15.99, 70cl), Glen Marnoch Speyside Single Malt Whisky (£18.49, 70cl) and Glen Marnoch Islay Single Malt Whisky (£18.49, 70cl).

Adding to Aldi’s ever-growing trophy cabinet just in time for Father’s Day, the retailer’s whisky range has already been awarded 15 medals at international competitions in the last 12 months.

Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, says: “To have won three gold and three silver medals at such a prestigious competition is quite an accolade. This industry recognition helps to prove that great quality doesn’t have to come with a luxury price tag and customers can be confident they’re saving money with us, whilst getting the best whisky taste and experience.”

The ISC selects and promotes the most outstanding quality spirits from across the globe. Winning an ISC award is an impressive achievement for any spirit that passes the scrupulous blind assessment from its experienced panel of specialist judges.
