SLICE SLICE BABY! ALDI LAUNCHES SOURDOUGH PIZZA DOUGH FOR THE FRYING PAN

• Shoppers will be able to create restaurant quality, authentic pizzas using just a frying pan
• The kits are comparable to Pizza Pilgrims, but at half the price
• The pizza dough is making waves with foodie influencers who got to fry up a pizza before anyone else

Aldi has today announced it is launching a brand new, supermarket first, Specially Selected Sourdough Frying Pan Pizza Dough. Available now for just £1.25, 300g, shoppers will be able to create restaurant quality pizzas at home – using only their frying pan – whilst saving nearly a tenner when compared to a similar version from Pizza Pilgrims[1]. Have a pizza that!

Frying pan pizzas have taken social media by storm and it is clearly a trend foodies knead to know about! The one pan pizza craze swept the country when pizza lovers were not able to get a slice of the action at their favourite Italian restaurants at the beginning of 2021.

Here to stay, Aldi’s dough-licious kits are already proving a hit! Girl Who Brunches, Let’s Get Em and ELJ Eats have called Aldi’s easy one pan pizzas; ‘The perfect lazy weekday dinner in the sun’  and ‘such a fun thing to make with friends’.  

Ideal for date night, fun with the littles ones or a foodie filled night with friends, shoppers can head to Aldi stores now to pick up all the ingredients required and save over 50% when compared to the famous Frying Pan Pizza Kits from Pizza Pilgrims[2].

These savvy foodies have also shown it’s not just about saving some dough, but it takes just less than 10 minutes to make. For a classic, tasty margherita, simply roll out the dough with a little plain flour, then transfer to a dry hot pan. Next, add the toppings starting with Aldi’s Specially Selected Basil & Oregano Passata (£1.15/700g), Emporium Italian Mozzarella (45p/240g), Nature’s Pick Cut Basil (47p/30g) and sprinkle some punchy Specially Selected Italian Parmigiano Reggiano (£2.59/200g), until browned underneath. Finish by placing under a hot grill to melt the cheese. Et voila!

Aldi’s Specially Selected Sourdough Pizza Dough is available from 9^th June at all Aldi stores and via Click & Collect across the UK.
