With 1.5 million Brits now following a plant-based diet[1], Aldi is pulling out all the stops for its vegan shoppers this Christmas with a range of vegan delights, including the Specially Selected Vegan Festive Wreath (£3.99, 480g) centrepiece, which landsin stores from 19th December.
The delicious wreath is packed with butternut squash, chestnuts and pumpkin seeds, topped with candied orange slices and rosemary sprigs that release an amazing aroma when cooked. What’s more, this crowd pleasing main is served with a cranberry glaze to add a pop of colour and sweetness.
Or for a traditional vegan main option, Aldi is offering the Plant Menu No Turkey Crown with Vegan Bacon (£4.69, 560g).Featuring a turkey-style soya joint, filled with a jewelled cranberry and chestnut stuffing centre, this delicious number is hand wrapped in vegan bacon. Serve with a generous helping of the Plant Menu Vegan Gravy (£1.49, 400g); a tasty accompaniment made with carrots, onions, mushrooms and parsnips, gently simmered with thyme and rosemary.
It just wouldn’t be Christmas without pigs in blankets, would it? Aldi’s got everyone covered with its No Pigs in Blankets (£2.49, 228g); delicious meat-free sausages, hand-wrapped in smoky vegan bacon. Serve these alongside some Specially Selected Vegan Stuffing Balls (£1.99, 300g) available in Spiced Cranberry & Clementine or Sage & Onion.
Complete the vegan Christmas dinner with the supermarket’s first Vegan Speculoos Cheezecake (£2.49, 450g) dessert. It has a crunchy digestive biscuit base which is topped with a delicious dairy-free speculoos filling, decorated with an indulgent speculoos sauce and biscuit crumb.
