Dubbed the finest tasting in the world, Wagyu is famed for its melt in the mouth flavour and luxury price tag. But, did you know you can create one of the world’s most expensive Wagyu burgers* for less than £3** using supermarket Aldi’s Specially Selected British Wagyu Beef Burgers (£2.99, pack of 2), on sale now.
One of the most expensive burgers in the world is thought to be Le Burger Brasserie’s 777 Burger, costing a whopping $777! Made with a surf and turf combo of Kobe Beef and fresh Maine Lobster, topped with caramelised onions, Brie cheese, prosciutto, and balsamic vinegar, and served with a bottle of Dom Perignon Rose Champagne….it’s fair to say this burger isn’t your usual weekend fast food go to.
Inspired by the 777 Burger, Aldi’s version can be recreated in your home kitchen for under £3 – an extraordinary burger for an exceptional price.
Begin by toasting Specially Selected Brioche Burger Buns (59p, 4 pack), and top with Specially Selected British Wagyu Beef Burgers (£2.99, pack of 2). For the ‘surf’, layer Specially Selected Argentinian Shrimps (£3.99, 300g), sweet and sticky caramelised Onions, a crumbling of French Brie (79p, 200g), and crispy fried Prosciutto (£1.49, 111g). Finish with a drizzle of Balsamic Vinegar (99p, 500ml), and enjoy with a bottle of Aldi’s award winning Veuve Monsigny Champagne Brut (£12.49, 75cl).
The steaks are high but the prices are low – what are ‘Yu’ waiting for?
