ALDI SLASHES COST OF TOP SHELF PREMIUM WINES BY 50%

• Shoppers can pick up a bottle of Pomerol, Condrieu and Margaux for just £9.99

Aldi is cutting the cost of its most premium wines, Pomerol, Margaux and Condrieu, from £19.99 to just £9.99 (75cl) in the run up to Easter.

From 20^th March and staggered across three weeks, shoppers can indulge in wines from some of the most highly regarded regions and admired appellations, at a fraction of the usual price tag.

Whilst normally only seen on the finest wine lists, such as London’s Hawksmoor which sells Margaux by the bottle for £500[1], the reductions mean that shoppers can stock up on top shelf tipples without pulling on the purse strings.  Huge savings can also be made against other retailers, which sell the likes of Pomerol by the bottle for more than £80.[2] But shoppers must be quick because once it’s gone, it’s gone!

The stellar Easter reductions line-up includes:

From 20^th – 26^th March: Château Moulinet Pomerol

Shoppers will delight in this red which offers spicy oak aromas with notes of rich plums, dark chocolate and chocolate covered cherries. 

From 27^th – 2^nd April: Château D’Arsac Margaux

This rich oaked red wine is fruity with notes of dark fruit and blackcurrant jam.  The perfect partner for roast lamb.

From 3^rd – 9^th April: Princes De France Condrieu

A delicious dry white wine boasting aromas of mango, the ideal pairing for those enjoying seafood this Easter.

And that’s not all, Aldi is also dropping the prices of a selection of other popular wines with savings of up to 27% from 20^th March.

But wine lovers will have to hop along to store as offers are limited to just one week while stocks last!
