GLASGOW SHOPPER SCOOPS OVER £250 FOR LOCAL FOODBANK AT ALDI SUPERMARKET SWEEP  

The winner of Aldi’s Supermarket Sweep in Glasgow has raised £258.94 for a local foodbank while picking up over £125 in Aldi favourites for herself.  

Aldi’s popular Supermarket Sweep recently arrived in Aldi’s Crown Street store and lucky shopper Suzanne Barret, who was chosen as the winner of an in-store competition, took part in the five-minute trolley dash for charity on Sunday 22 May.  

As well as taking home a trolley full of goodies, Suzanne successfully found the hidden inflatable in store, meaning Aldi Scotland doubled the total value of her haul and donated the lump sum to her nominated charity, Glasgow South East Foodbank.  

Aldi Supermarket Sweep winner, Suzanne Barrett, said: “I had such a fun experience at Aldi’s Supermarket Sweep and the staff on the night were excellent. I am so please that I was able to help my local foodbank as well.” 

Audrey Flannagan, Manager at Glasgow South East Foodbank, said: “I would like to say a big thank you to the sweeper, to the staff in store who were all brilliant, and to Aldi for arranging the event. It’s good to know that even at a time when the cost-of-living is so high, people still think about those less fortunate.  

“The total amount raised will be able to feed four families for a week, which will really make a difference to those who need it most.”
