Veggie and vegan shoppers will be spoilt for choice this Christmas as Aldi has announced its biggest vegan and vegetarian range yet, with prices starting from just £1.99.
Starters and sides:
New this year and a supermarket first, Aldi is launching a NEW Plant Menu Ultimate Footlong Vegan Pig in Blanket (£2.99, 404g) which is made with taste approved[1] ultimate no pork sausage and wrapped in a smoky vegan bacon. Measuring at a foot long – of course. Also back by popular demand are Aldi’s Plant Menu Vegan Pigs in Blankets (£2.99, 228g) with both products available in stores from 19th December.
Aldi’s Let’s Party Vegan Bites (£1.99, 225g/206g) is the perfect plant-based starter. Filled with delicious picky bits including no duck spring rolls, crunchy cauliflower popcorn bites with a buffalo dip and sweet potato bites with katsu sauce. Available from 14th October.
Set to be a popular side is Aldi’s NEW Specially Selected Sprout Gratin (£3.79, 400g). Made with shredded brussels sprouts, cavolo nero kale and leeks in a cheese and white wine sauce, topped with crispy onions and breadcrumbs, everyone will be reaching for seconds. Available from 19th December.
No dinner is complete without gravy, so shoppers will be delighted to know that Aldi’s Specially Selected Vegetable Gravy (£2.19, 500g) is returning to shelves from 19th December. Seasoned with a delicious blend of herbs and spices, this indulgent gravy will bring the whole meal together beautifully.
Mains:
For the main event, shoppers need look no further than Aldi’s NEW Specially Selected Nut Roast (£2.99, 390g). Available in two delectable flavours, vegetarian root vegetables with a brie and cranberry sauce centre and vegan melting centre roast with a cranberry sauce filling, shoppers will be going nuts for this flavoursome main at the dinner table. Available from 14th October.
For a meat-free twist on a Christmas dinner staple, Aldi’s NEW Plant Menu Stuffed No Turkey Crown (£4.99, 490g) is the perfect choice. A deliciously succulent joint with a caramelised onion, sage and herb stuffing and finished with rich umami basting stock melts, it’s the ultimate meat-free main. Available from 19th December.
For a brie-lliant twist on a traditional wellington, shoppers should try Aldi’s NEW Specially Selected Brie & Butternut Wellington (£4.99, 440g). A delightful combination of textures and flavours, this vegetarian main will leave guests wanting more. Alternatively, shoppers can opt for the returning vegan favourite, Specially Selected No Beef Wellington (£4.99, 440g) —a perfectly seasoned no beef centre, topped with a rich mushroom duxelle and hand-wrapped in vegan pastry. Both products are available from 14th October.
Another main alternative that certainly packs a flavourful punch is Aldi’s NEW Specially Selected No Beef Fillet with a Peppercorn Crust (£4.99, 430g). A succulent fillet encrusted with coarsely ground peppercorns and finished with a rich gravy, this tasty main delivers maximum flavour with each bite and lands in stores from 19th December.
Shoppers can quite literally eat the rainbow this festive season with Aldi’s NEW Specially Selected Rainbow Vegetable Parcel (£4.99, 450g). Seasoned layers of spinach and broccoli, roasted butternut squash, and braised red cabbage, with a rich mushroom and cranberry duxelle and hand wrapped in crisp & golden puff pastry, these delicious pockets of goodness will add some excitement to any dinner plate. Available from 14th October.
Aldi’s NEW Specially Selected Roasted Vegetable Snowflake (£4.99, 400g) is a treat for the eyes. This gluten free centrepiece is packed full of butternut squash, chestnuts, cranberries and pumpkin seeds, topped with a chestnut crumb and finished with a mulled festive drizzle. Available from 19th December.
Desserts:
For those craving a delicious cheese board alternative, Aldi is launching a NEW Plant Menu Vegan Selection (£4.99, 400g) that’s perfect for sharing. There’s a flavour to suit everyone, including a smooth and creamy mature style, a mature style with warming black pepper, a fresh white style with juicy cranberries or jalapeño and chilli for those who love a spicy kick. Available in stores from 6th December.
Aldi’s vegan and vegetarian Christmas range will be available in stores throughout October, November and December.
